John Gotti was called the Teflon Don due to his ability to beat severe court charges. Gotti beat charges a number of times for serious accusations and the media called him ‘the Teflon Don’. Which meant that the charges would never stick. Gotti achieved famous celebrity like attention and media attention.  Gotti was finally imprisoned later on in life, however he had beaten severe charges more than ten times. He had the power and money to hire expensive lawyers and at several court room functions he had supporters cheer when he was declared innocent.
